According to authorities Monday, five children were among the nine people killed in a flash flood at a swimming hole in Arizona over the weekend. Police added in a statement that all of the victims were part of an extended family. Reports say torrential rains unleashed six-foot-high floodwaters darkened by ash from an earlier wildfire in the area and swept away the victims, who ranged in ages 3 to 57.
