RNC Withdraws Support for Roy Moore

Wochit Headline News - November 14, 2017

The Republican National Committee has ended a fundraising pact with Alabama senate candidate Roy Moore.

According to POLITICO, THE RNC is also canceling a field program it had set up ahead of the state’s special election on December 12.

Before Tuesday's decision to cut ties, the RNC had around a dozen paid canvassers in Alabama working for Moore.

It will now no longer transfer any money to the race on his behalf.

Reports add that even before allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced against Moore, the committee believed he was in trouble.

Internal polling conducted around a week ago showed him leading Democratic opponent Doug Jones by just two percentage points despite the race being in a Republican-leaning state..
