UCLA Players Back In US After Trump Sought Help From Chinese President

Three UCLA basketball players who were arrested in China on suspicion of shoplifting arrived back in the United States on Tuesday after U.S.

President Donald Trump reportedly asked for help with the case from Chinese President Xi Jinping.

LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill were detained by police last week in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou after they were accused of shoplifting from a Louis Vuitton store.

The White House reported that Trump raised the issue with Xi at a dinner and that the players were given relatively light treatment due to Trump’s intervention..
