'The Drop'

Clash woke up this morning to the sound of 6Music host Lauren Laverne playing something special.

Introducing new group *THE NIX*, she explains that it was helmed by Nick McCarthy - once of Franz Ferdinand - and Seb Kellig.

New album ''Sausage Studio Sessions' lands on October 30th, a multi-artist feast that boasts Laetitia Sadier, KT Tunstall and Basement Jaxx vocalist Vula Malinga amongst others.

Ahead of this, THE NIX have shared new single 'The Drop', and it's an itchily infectious offering, a neat piece of oddball pop music.

All choppy melodies and whimsical lyrics, 'The Drop' is a staggeringly inventive piece, and it comes with a startling video.

The animated clip was directed by Haoyan of America Talking, Nick introduces it thus: It features Seb and myself travelling into a surreal and psychedelic digital world.

Made by the great Haoyan of America, famous for the video for Crumb-Locket video and for his amazing Jellyfishing in America docs.

Thankfully, we're able to keep those Monday morning energies flowing, with Clash able to air the video to 'The Drop' before anyone else.
