Residents brace for flooding threat in New Orleans

Thunderstorms brought flash flooding throughout the New Orleans, Louisiana, area on July 10, and one resident took the opportunity to paddleboard down a residential street in the city, this video shows. A tornado warning was issued for the area, and there were reports of a possible waterspout nearby. Floodwater inundated buildings and submerged New Orleans streets. The flooding sparked the closure of several buildings, including City Hall and all public libraries, as well as the suspension of the city’s bus and streetcar services.
