Trump says he is sure Hong Kong, China will be able to work things out

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he is sure China and Hong Kong will be able to work things out after mass protests against an extradition bill that would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial descended into chaos.

Hong Kong Protestors Clash With Police For Another Day
Reuters reports demonstrators and police clashed Thursday in Hong Kong as hundreds of people continued protesting a planned extradition law. On Wednesday, protests around the city’s legislature forced the government to postpone the debate on the extradition bill. The bill would allow Hong Kong residents to be sent to mainland China for trial. Hong Kong’s China-backed Chief Executive Carrie Lam condemned the violence but supports the legislation.
