Two Belgian Islamic State militants escape camp in north Syria: Belgium

Two Islamic State militants from Belgium have escaped custody in northern Syria in the course of Turkey's offensive against Kurdish forces there, the head of Belgium's security assessment agency said on Wednesday.

Erdogan Denies Escape Of Islamic State Prisoners
Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan spoke out about reports that Islamic State prisoners escaped. Erdogan dismissed reports that the prisoners left northeastern Syria as a result of Turkeyโ€™s offensive. According to Reuters, he said the news was โ€œdisinformationโ€ aimed at provoking the West. The Kurdish-led administration said 785 foreigners affiliated with Islamic State escaped. They said they were being held in a camp that was left vulnerable after Turkish shelling.
