Turkey plans to establish 12 posts in Syria 'safe zone': Erdogan

Turkey aims to establish 12 observation posts in a planned so-called safe zone in northern Syria, President Tayyip Erdogan said on Friday, adding Ankara would respond if the Syrian government "makes a mistake" in the region.

Erdogan: Turkey Has No Intention Of Declaring A Ceasefire In NE Syria
President Tayyip Erdogan told U.S. President Donald Trump that Turkey will never declare a ceasefire in northeastern Syria. According to Reuters, Erdogan added he was unconcerned by U.S. sanctions over Ankara’s offensive. He also said he told Trump Turkey would “not negotiate with a terrorist organization” in response to Trump’s mediation offer. Erdogan told Russian President Vladimir Putin that Turkey’s incursion into Syria would contribute to counter-terrorism efforts. Additionally, Erdogan told Putin the incursion would strengthen Syria’s territorial integrity, and aid a political solution process.
