At least 4 dead in California school shooting

Four people are dead after a gunman opened fire at a California school Tuesday.

Staff at the Rancho Tehama Elementary School quickly locked the doors and placed students underneath desks and tables after hearing gunshots. No children were among those killed, police said.

The gunman was killed by authorities at another site.

The shooter tried to enter the school but left after realizing the doors were locked..
