On Friday, the FBI announced it has officially replaced former deputy director Andrew McCabe, who was fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions just hours before his retirement after earning ire from Donald Trump.

According to a release, Director Christopher Wray named Associate Deputy Director David Bowdich to take McCabe's role.

Bowdich previously served as assistant director of the Los Angeles Field Office, where he oversaw investigations including the San Bernardino terror attack.
