The founder kerwin doughtonsays it's a special festival that really brings the community together.

He says it's a tradition that transcends generations.

I'm reminded every once in a while bya girl the other day came up and said 'i was about this tall when i first came to the festival of lights, and now we're bringing our kids.'" the event also has wagon rides, and the world's largest nutcracker.

This year two of those lighted displays will be two characters from walt disney's frozen.
