Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is leaving the club with immediate effect.

Among the favorites to succeed him, former French star Zinedine Zidane.

Manchester United is looking for a new manager - the club saying Tuesday (December 18) that Jose Mourinho would leave with immediate effect.

His departure comes after a dismal start to the season.

United stuck in sixth place, almost 20 points behind deadly rivals

A caretaker manager will now take over until the end of the season, but United's search for a savior goes on.
