Princess Reema bint Bandar Al Saud is the first woman to be appointed as an ambassador for Saudi Arabia.

According to CNN, as a member of the Saudi royal family she will be the ambassador to the U.S. The princess is known for advocating for womenโ€™s rights in the kingdom.

Princess Reema is familiar with the U.S., having studied in George Washington University.

She lived in Washington from 1975 to 2005 and now has two teenage children.
