ROUGH CUT.

NO REPORTER NARRATION.

U.S. President Donald Trump said he walked away from a nuclear deal at a summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on Thursday (February 28) because of North Korea's unnacceptable demands to lift strict U.S.-led sanctions.

Earlier, both Trump and Kim had expressed hopes for progress on improving relations around the issue of denuclearization.

Their talks in Vietnam's capital, Hanoi, mark their second summit in eight months.

Both Trump and Kim left the venue of the talks, the French-colonial-era Metropole hotel, without attending a planned working lunch together.
