Judge Rejects Bid For Leniency By Manafort

According to Reuters, a federal judge rejected a bid for leniency on behalf of Paul Manafort.

The former chairman of Trump's presidential campaign is being sentenced in Virginia for financial crimes and fraud.

US District Judge T.S.

Ellis is due to impose a sentence on the 69-year-old after he was found guilty by a jury trial late last year.

A jury convicted Manafort last August on five counts of tax fraud, two counts of bank fraud and one count of failing to disclose foreign bank accounts.
