ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: George Michael's art collection is going up for auction.

A small selection of the items have already gone on display in New York, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and at Christies Galleries in Beverly Hills, California, ahead of a flagship exhibition in London, England from March 9, 2019, through March 15, 2019.

The 150 lot sale includes controversial and evocative works by Tracey Emin, Damian Hurst, Marc Quinn, Sarah Lucas, and Harland Miller.

Kathryn Widing, specialist in post-war and Contemporary art at Christies, told Reuters: "What's exciting about this collection in general is many don't know that George Michael was actually a very avid collector and had an important collection of over 200 works of art." Proceeds from the sale, which will take place in London on March 14, will be donated to charity to continue Michael's philanthropic work.
