ROUGH CUT (REPORTER NARRATION) Back from a Mideast trip, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo praised U.S. recognition of Golan Heights as Israeli territory on Monday at a conference of pro-Israel U.S. lobby group, AIPAC.

"What a truly great two days for two great nations," Pompeo said during a speech in Washington at the annual meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), a pro-Israel group.

With Netanyahu looking over his shoulder at the White House, Trump signed a proclamation on Monday officially granting U.S. recognition of the Golan as Israeli territory - a dramatic shift from decades of U.S. policy.

Pompeo's former U.S. Ambassador the United Nations, Nikki Haley, also opened up about "surviving the UN." Haley has largely stayed out of the public eye since she left the UN at the end of last year.
