A new statement from Boeing indicates that the aerospace manufacturer knew about a problem with the 737 Max aircraft well before the deadly October 2018 Lion Air crash, but decided not to do anything about it.

IN A NEWLY-RELEASED STATEMENTFROM BOEING --THE COMPANY SAYS THEY KNEW ABOUTA PROBLEM WITH THE 7-37 MAX 8BEFORE TWODEADLY CRASHES IN OCTOBER ANDMARCH ...BUT DECIDED TO NOTDO ANYTHING ABOUTTHE PROBLEM.THE STATEMENT SAYS AN ALERTFEATURE ON THE AIRCRAFT ONLYWORKED ON PLANESTHAN HAD AN ADDITIONAL FEATUREOPTION.ENGINEERS SAY THEY KNEW ABOUTTHE ISSUE BACK IN 20-17.THEY ADD THE PLANES DIDN'T MEETCERTAIN REQUIREMENTS.AFTER A REVIEW, BOEING DECIDEDIT WAS FINE UNTIL THE NEXTUPDATE.

THEY ALSO SAY THE ISSUEDIDN'T AFFECT AIRPLANE THEOPERATION OR SAFETYOF THE AIRCRAFTS.THAT'S WHY AIRLINES OR THE F-A-AWEREN'T NOTIFIED.

NEARLY 350PEOPLE DIED IN THOSE TWOCRASHES.
