Trump leaves a Mueller hearing up to Barr

U.S. President Donald Trump said it would be up to his attorney general, William Barr, to decide on whether to allow Special Counsel Robert Mueller to testify before Congress.

Trump renewed his attack on Mueller, whose report said the president had repeatedly tried to impede his probe into Russia's role in the 2016 election.

I had conflicts with him." Trump spoke a day after a Democrat-led house panel voted along party lines to hold Barr in contempt of Congress for refusing to hand over an unredacted copy of Mueller's findings.

The vote by the House Judiciary Committee came hours after Trump asserted executive privilege to stop Democrats from seeing the full report and underlying evidence.

Democrats are demanding to hear from Mueller himself, which Barr last week said he did not oppose.

Trump has denied any wrongdoing and vowed to fight all congressional subpoenas.

Thank you so much."
