In Wimbledon's longest final ever — world number one, Novak Djokovic, defeated longtime rival Roger Federer in a gripping and historic Grand Slam championship match.

Closing in on five hours... Wimbledon's new rule of a fifth-set tiebreak kicked in, after the pair reached 12 games a piece for the first time ever in the tournament's final.

The 32-year-old Serb pulled ahead 6-3 in the tiebreaker.

After the final point had to be replayed following a challenge, 37-year-old Federer shanked a forehand -- sending it high and out of bounds -- and leaving Djokovic with his fifth straight victory over him… AND a fifth straight Wimbledon title.

After his traditional Wimbledon victory celebration of eating grass — The Duchess of Cambridge presented Djokovic with the Challenge Cup, as the crowd exploded in applause.
