HALL, MURPHY, AND MCLEOD CHAMPAGNE CELEBRATION AND HOLDING UP TROPHIES STORY: Australian Matt Hall kept his title hopes alive with a Red Bull Air Race World Championship win Sunday (July 14) at picturesque Lake Balaton in Hungary.

Hall completed his final four run in 58.839 seconds with no penalties to narrowly better second placed Brit Ben Murphy's 58.957 and third placed Canadian Pete McLeod's 58.966.

Both Murphy and McLeod finished the course with faster times than Hall but were given one second penalties, Murphy for going over the G limit and McLeod for crossing the track limit line.

Overall championship leader Martin Sonka finished last in the four pilot final group with a time of 1:02.391 after being hit with a three second penalty for clipping a gate.

The win earned Hall 25 points for a total of 61 on the year and leapfrogged him into second place in the overall standings, just four points back of Sonka with one race remaining.
