Former Vice President and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden was quick to correct himself during a speech in Des Moines, Iowa on Thursday after he said "poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids." Rough cut (no reporter narration).
Democratic front-runner Joe Biden is famous for making verbal gaffes at public events, but he was quick to correct himself after he misspoke on Thursday.
During a Des Moines speech about opportunity in education, Biden said, "We have this notion that somehow if you're poor you cannot do it.
Poor kids are just as bright and just as talented as white kids." Apparently realizing he'd made a mistake, Biden quickly added, "wealthy kids, black kids, Asian kids".
"They can do anything anyone else can do given a shot", he said.
