"Would humanity exist without rape, incest?" King

Congressman Steve King wants to ban abortion, even in the case of rape and incest....and here's how he defended his proposed legislation on Wednesday.

"What if we went back through all the family trees and just pulled those people out that were products of rape and incest?

Would there be any population of the world left if we did that?" Democratic presidential candidates campaigning in Iowa were quick to criticize the Republican.

"You would think it would be pretty easy to come out against rape and incest." Top Republican leaders in the House also criticized King's remarks.

King has made controversial statements in the past, such as this 2013 comment about immigrants, "For every one who's a valedictorian, there's another 100 out there that, they weight 100 pounds and they've got calves the size of cantaloupes because they're hauling 75 pounds of marijuana across the desert!'

Despite the Republican leadership taking key committee assignments away, King did not apologize.

"I'm looking for someone who is a Republican who has disagreed with me on the facts, and the substasnce of what I said, haven't found one yet, in fact, I haven't found person yet who will disagree with the facts that I have uttered." As for this week's abortion comments, fellow Iowa lawmakers are condemning King, saying rape and incest is never justified.

Democrats are going further, saying the long-time Iowa Congressman should resign.
