Hurricane Dorian still pounding Canada's Atlantic Coast

Hurricane Dorian continued to make its presence known on the Atlantic Coast over the weekend, leaving a trail of destruction as far north as Nova Scotia, Canada, after pummeling the Carolinas and devastating the Bahamas.

A large construction crane collapsed in downtown Halifax, and downed trees littered city streets and neighborhoods.

Dorian was reclassified to a very intense post-tropical storm, with wind speeds equivalent to that of a Category 2 hurricane.

The storm ripped into the Bahamas early last week with Category 5 winds, destroying thousands of homes and killing at least 43 people.

The number of confirmed deaths was expected to spike in the coming days.

The storm also pounded Charleston, South Carolina and parts of North Carolina's shores - including the Outer Banks - causing major flooding.

"I'm sad to report..." On Saturday, North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said a total of two deaths in the state were linked to Dorian.

The Canadian Hurricane Centre projected that the storm was set to reach Newfoundland on Sunday.
