The New Jersey university topped a list by U.S. News & World Report for the ninth year in a row.

U.S. News & World Report based its 2020 list on several academic aspects, including graduation rates.

We've found the best institutions to be ones committed to academically and financially supporting their students through graduation.

They draw in high-quality professors and set students up for postgraduate success, Kim Castro, U.S. News CCO, via 'USA Today'.

Coming in second is Massachusetts' Harvard University.

There is a three-way tie for third place.

Those schools are Yale University, Columbia University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Massachusetts' Williams College is No.

1 among national liberal arts colleges.

For national universities in the public school section, University of California—Los Angeles took top honors.

Another California school, University of California—Riverside, is No.

1 in a new category: social mobility.

For liberal arts establishments in social mobility, Iowa's Cornell College ranked first
