Suicide Rate Of Active Duty US Service Members Grows Significantly

The suicide rate among active duty service members increased significantly over the past five years.

A Pentagon report stated the suicide rate was 24.8 per 100,000 service members.

According to Reuters, this is up from just under 20 per 100,000 in 2013.

The report said that 541 service memberd died by suicide in 2018, the most common method being with firearms. The report comes after three U.S. sailors on the aircraft carrier George H.W.

Bush died by apparent suicide.
