Northern Legislators Fight For Money

South Mississippi Legislators along with Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves want to make sure BP Oil spill settlement funds are mostly spent on the gulf coast, but North East Mississippi Legislators are saying not so fast.

Representative William Tracy Arnold a Republican from Booneville says people feel some of the money should come to the Central and Northern parts of the state.

How this money will be divvied up will most definitely be a large point of contention when the 2017 legislative session kicks off.

Just last week, Lt.

Gov.

Reeves held his first of three town hall meetings on the coast about how he wants to make sure all or at least the majority of the 750 million dollars in settlement money from the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill makes it to the coast.
