Johnson, Corbyn square off in UK's final election debate

The final election debate between British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn found Johnson facing redoubled attacks, including claims from the Labour leader that the government was considering selling off parts of the country's treasured universal healthcare system to the United States in a post-Brexit trade deal.

Johnson, Corbyn square off in UK's final election debate

Johnson has long denied the allegations over the National Health Service.

In the Friday (December 6) night BBC debate he called it "Bermuda Triangle stuff" but didn't deny that American trade negotiators had made appeals for more access to the NHS.

Corbyn responded that "it doesn't take two years to say no to privatization of the NHS," a reference to the length of trade talks.

The debate was seen as a last attempt for Corbyn to close the gap with Johnson, who is leading in most polls.
