STILL PHOTOGRAPH OF PILE OF SNOW COVERING CAR STORY: A winter blizzard buried cars and blocked house entrances in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador over the weekend.

Kim Porter shared with Reuters videos and photos showing massive snow piles covering the house entrance in the town of Paradise, Newfoundland on Saturday (January 18).

Porter's dog Scooby is seen sitting next to the wall of snow in the living room.

"We still have power and have been able to dig out somewhat," Porter told Reuters on Sunday (January 19).

"We are still in a state of emergency, so no one is allowed to leave their homes until it is lifted." The winter storm dumped up to 76.2 cm (30 inches) of snow on St.

John's, the capital of Newfoundland, and packed wind gusts as high as 130 km per hour (81 mph) on Saturday night.
