Now.

You've seen him play agent jasper sit where well in the marvel universe, law and order, numbers and the walking dead and mr. mercedes.

And we would like to welcome back actor max fernandez, also the founder of the charleston master class, and welcome back.

>> thanks for having me back, it's exciting.

>> when you scale other, your class hadn't started just yet, but you developed this program for anyone in the entertainment industry.

And how are things going?

>> it has been great.

We're in the second month of a three-month program.

And we had this last hurrying month.

And in the last month, we shot original material, and we have guest directors coming in every week, and then we have our film students from two local film schools in charleston, and they work through every crew position, and they have gotten to work with all of the actors and now they're going off on their own with the actors and shooting their short films z.

We're going to present them in april.

>> that's exciting, and have discovered fresh talent in these classes?

>> stringily enough, we have a couple of actors with no experience.

Never been onstage, never been in front of the camera.

>> actors who want to get their feet wet.

>> and we have actors who are literally working onstage in paying performances as well.

So we literally have the entire range.

And they have no experience, and at this point, we're all family, and they decide the basics that they need to know and it all clicked for them.

They also realized that maybe there were elements that maybe happen for actors, and now they're understanding, oh, maybe i have to break the script down this way and think of a character from this point of view, and they're open to the other person, how they're reacting and adjusting to how we're going to fix things, and they're kind of shy.

Especially the ones who are completely green, they really stepped up.

>> it sounds like so much fun, and remind people how the master class works.

Because it's giving students the opportunity not only to be on stable, but behind the scenes.

>> it's a two-prong attack.

So we work with basic stage skills, and basic acting skills, and also the language of an actor.

How we talk, how we break down scripts, and then we take what you learn from the stage portion of it and the very next day, it runs monday and tuesday, so the stage stuff is on monday.

And then the very next day on tuesday, you're -- so we'll work on some of the material that you're going to shoot the day prior, and then you go in on tuesday, and you have a crew of eight.

Cameras, lights, sound, boom in your head near your face, and they have the entire experience to see what it's like to have that feeling of okay, i have to perform now, and what's great about it, it's a class.

We're not spending millions of dollars.

>> you can make mistakes.

>> and you know, our students make mistakes, they go oh, my god.

Just relax, take a breath.

And it's cool.

We can pick up from where you left off and we'll cut that out.

You don't have to get everything in the first try.

And that's the point of being in a class like this.

It's truly a safe space for actors, they can go in and make mistakes, and then the next week, before class starts on monday, we watch what they shot the week before, and it's interesting, when they're oh, oh, oh.

Or they're like wow, i didn't think i could do that.

>> sometimes even when you do make a mistake, and i'm speaking from personal experience of just doing this show, when you make flubs and mistakes, it feels worse than it really is.

>> sometimes you'll go that was a little thing.

So when we do review it, the actors really get the chance to see oh, i can do this.

Put his hand down, and they can see it and watching it as an audience member, as opposed to being in t.

Slowing down on this line or taking the air out.

Shortening the skew.

And they learn all of that.

>> how many students do you have?

>> with this go around, i'm so happy i didn't go with the original number.

Not so serious, we ended up with 11.

>> you cherry picked.

>> i'm glad i did, it was fantastic.

And everyone got personalized attention.

>> i can't wait to meet two of your
