Melissa Wade with Mississippi's Veterans Affairs invites the community to the Women's Veterans Symposium that will honor and shed light about women's efforts in the military.
The symposium will take place on March 20th at the Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi.
Admission is free but it is requested people sign up through eventbrite.

Welcome back were still talking with melissa wade from mississippi veterans affairs about the women's veterans symposiums was you were saying that there is expected to be a rise in the number of women joining the military mississippi absolutely set our numbers are now for mississippi veterans run around hundred and 86 run around hundred and 86,000 and national trends show us that over the next 10 years that number is going to double while so knowing about this special group of veterans we knew as an agency that we needed to focus on creating an event that could help honor and inform this group of women and so what people expect when they come out to the symposium with some information so we're going to show these women basically what it looks like to be a woman in the military and really in our focus in on the unique issues that women serve will face in and out of their career through their service so what sort of audience are you trying to reach are these people that need the inking about women and maybe thinking about joining the military artie decided you need to want to know what to expect so this particular event is to focus on women that are veterans already gone it can be active duty in the national guard and reserves women that have separated from the military that are veterans and even retired veteran you said this is the first one is the first one mistake time that we've ever held and to be honest we've actually seen some other states join and we are up to five states as far away as illinois that are coming to our event so we are so excited and it is can be a great day just to be no help these women in their leadership and to focus on things that can help them move forward in the event is free but you do want them to sign up at its present we have a website i'm event bright ip go in search women veterans symposium it'll get you to our base to register you can also gets our facebook page which is in s veterans affairs there you can go to the link it'll take you right to event bright will also keep you informed on many other events that are agent sound super easy to do you will let everybody know when and where it could be absolutely is good to be on march when he asked victor 8 am to 4 pm we are having a small reception the night before just economy agreed it is gonna be just a full day of six speakers we have the wing commander here from columbus air force base col.
