This is the horror moment a driver smashes into the back of another car on a motorway - almost causing a high-speed pile up.Filmed on a lorry driver's dash cam the heart-stopping footage shows a car back end of another car which had come to a complete standstill in the middle of the road.The collision, at junction 17 of the M25 motorway, causes both cars to spin out of control as glass and debris is sprawled across the carriageway.It took place on February 13 at around 9.45pm and almost led to a motorway pile-up.Other drivers travelling behind the two cars involved in the crash can be seen slamming on their brakes to avoid further collisions.Thankfully no one was seriously injured in the crash and the police attended the scene of the crash.This footage, captured on a Nextbase dash cam, was shared to police by HGV driver, Neil Pillow, but no further action was taken.Mr Pillow also provided the clip to Nextbase to help raise awareness of safe driving.He also sent his clip to the National Dash Cam Safety Portal, where the public can submit dash cam videos directly to the police.Nextbase encourages drivers who capture incidents on the roads to come forward with any footage that might help the police.In 2019 there more than 10,000 uploads to the portal, of which 50% resulted in some form of prosecution.
