36 high school students attended from Terre Haute North and South, Clay City, West Vigo, South Vermillion, Riverton Parke, Parke Heritage, Shakamak, and Robinson High School in Illinois.

In this evening's education alert.... ivy tech community college in terre haute is giving high school students a chance to explore cyber security.

The college hosted "cyber connection".

It was a free workshop for students.

It gave them an opportunity to learn about possible i-t careers.

They also learned techniques for cyber security.

News 10 spoke with an ivy tech professor.

She says events like this help spark an interest in students.

"we hope they get several things.

Get a little bit of familiarity with college also if they haven't had a lot of exposure to a computer background in the high school that they kind of get their feet wet with that."

Students from high schools across the wabash valley attended today's event.
