Judge hears arguments over defense motion that police are withholding evidence against Janet Hinds in the death of police officer Nicholas Galinger.

The case against janet hinds says the police are withholding evidence from them.

She's the woman accused in the fatal hit and run of chattanooga police officer nicholas galinger.

The defense took their case before a judge today.

News 12's taylor bishop shows us what happened in our continuing coverage.

This morning judge don poole heard arguments from the defense claiming chattanooga police withheld evidence in the investigation of a crash that killed officer galinger.

"did i ask you if you had spoken to dectective freeman, the officer who had spoken to the occupants.

I spoke with him monday of last week" chief david roddy and officer warren we're subpoenaed to testify today.

"in total how many videos do you have that are relivent to this case.

Videos from the either business or residence along the travel route.

I have one from a business, none from a residence" officer warren testified about what happened that day of the crash that killed officer galinger.

In the courtroom videos were shown to officer warren of the crash scene, who was responsible for witness statements and if hinds was at fault.

"untill i know what format it needs to be in the information is useless" chief roddy was then brought to the witness stand to speak about who he discussed this case with.

"i made a statement that i did not know of any evidence that suppourted allegations" in closing remarks the defense asked for video from hamill road to be presented to in court.

The defense also asked officer warren to turn over all notes on this case.

"investigator warren clearly states, well i don't feel like i have to document those things and so i didn't do it.

I don't think judge that it was inapproraite although the state has reported otherwise in their motion for the defense to ask why ordinary investigative steps were not taken in this case" janet hinds' trial is scheduled to begin on september 29.
