Through this "it means no visitors."

As the coronavirus spreads... kentucky nursing homes told to ban visits for everyone... but the patients who are dying.

And colleges across the country debate whether to move classes...online.

### good afternoon, i'm veronica jean seltzer... and i'm tom kenny...the governor is scheduled to give a coronavirus update any moment...we will bring that 'live'.

In the meantime.... we're learning more about the six people in kentucky who have the coronavirus.

The governor says the three people in harrison county are a 27-year old woman who works at the walmart in cynthiana.

U-k hospital says after being admitted in critical condition...she has been upgraded to 'fair' condition.

Also a 67-year old woman and a 68-year old man.

The governor says they are all connected...but not to the walmart.

The two patients in fayette county are both men...ages 46- and-49.

And, the lone case in jefferson county is a 69-year old man.

All are in isolation either in a hospital or at home.

The state health commissioner says they are all gradually improving.

The governor says more than 200 people have self-isolated as a precaution.

The governor also announcing today...restricted visitation at state- run nursing homes and long-term care facilities...since seniors are among the most vulnerable to the virus.

The state is strongly urging privately-run facilities to do the same.

Sayre christian village in lexington says it's heeding that advice...it actually started restricting visitors yesterday.

The center has around 375 residents.

The ceo says she doesn't know how long the restrictions will be in place... and adds she is evaluating the situation daily.

"now that we have restrictions in place we are offering face time, skype.

We're doing a lot creative ways for folks to be able to communicate with their loved ones."

Jails are also making adjustments.

The fayette county jail says visitors and volunteers won't be allowed in for now...but the jail says it hopes to reinstate visitation as soon as possible.

A bluegrass community and techincal college student in lexington had contact with the first coronavirus patient, according to the school.

They say the student isn't showing any symptoms. the student took classes at the newtown and leestown campuses.

B-c-t-c says teachers and classmates who may have come in contact with the student are being notified.

School buildings are being cleaned and disinfected.

Berea college in madison county is cancelling the rest of its semester.

The school's president says its administrative committee decided today to end classes this friday to keep students and staff safe from the coronavirus.

Students are expected to move out by this weekend.

The college will remain open...and students who can't return home will be allowed to stay on campus.

There are several other consequences...of the early end to semester including postponing graduation and cancelling school sponsored summer travel.

### one of the nation's largest universities...ohio state...is suspending in-person classes at least through the end of the month because of the virus.

Some smaller schools in the northeast are doing the same.

We asked u-k just yesterday if the school was considering making the same move...we were told...not for now...but all options are being considered.

The girls' sweet 16 basketball tournament at rupp arena in lexington begins tomorrow.

As we reported yesterday, it is going on as scheduled despite coronavirus concerns.

The lexington center says it has stepped-up the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting throughout the venue.

And, alcohol-based sanitizer dispensers have been put in every lobby.

Doctors at u-k healthcare say there will be enough coronavirus tests available to test everyone who needs to be tested.

Right now in kentucky, 34 people have been tested...28 of those have come back negative.

Doctors at u-k say more commercial labs are now able to run the tests which will make it more widely available.

It had been reported this weekend u-k was running low on protective gear for staff.

The health system says it isn't concerned.

We have the supply we need and we are constantly, daily evaluating it u-k says it also has a contingency plan...to get more equipment from the state.

### i've talked to some of you who are worried about being able to tell the difference between coronavirus symptoms...flu symptoms...and allergy symptoms as we approach allergy season.

They are similar...so we made this graphic to help tell the difference.

Coronavirus symptoms appear about two to 14 days after you're exposed.

They include cough and fever..

And it'll feel hard to breathe.

Flu you could also see cough and fever...but not that shortness of breath...you also might have other symptoms including muscle aches and a sore throat.

Allergies...come with more sneezing and itchy eyes.

If you want to take a closer look at this or save it to show someone else...i'm going to post it on our website w-t-v-q dot com.

### that's also where you'll be able to find a link to the state's website with all the coronavirus information you need to know.

You can also call the state's toll-free hotline.

The city of lexington kicks-off its 'fund for the arts' campaign today.

It's a celebration of all that 'lex arts' does and hopes to do to give back to the community.

"it means no visitors.

Obviously we're still allowing folks that are necessary to come to our facility to provide service to our residents."
