Newswatch 12's leah thompson is live in ashland.

Two different events have already been canceled in the city.

Leah how are people in the community feeling about all the cancellations?

Honestly there's been a lot of mixed emotions.

People understand why big events need to get canceled.

At the same time they are worried about businesses in town.

Today we've heard from a long list of organizations and businesses across southern oregon.

Events either being canceled or postponed.

One of those is the ashland independent film festival.

It was suppose to happen next month.

The festival says it is working on a new plan.

The oregon shakespeare festival is getting hit hard.

The next 4 weeks all shows are canceled.

Lynn wallis from ashland is one of those people with mixed emotions about all of this.

I feel very sad that this whole thing is happening, but it is happening.

Therefore, i'm just in the middle totally.

I really am.

Good and bad.

It's a bad thing when you have a pandemic.

Most of the people i talked to like wallis says they don't know what to do during a pandemic.

It's a learning experience for a lot of people.

Coming up on newswatch 12 at 6.

I'm breaking down the latest details about the oregon shakespeare festival.

What you need to know if you have tickets and how soon it will reopen.
