New York state Governor Andrew Cuomo on Monday expressed the importance of leaving some schools intact for essential personnel who may need childcare.
Cuomo announced that all New York City, Westchester, Suffolk, and Nassau public schools will close this week to limit the spread of COVID-19.
With that announcement, he also wanted to ensure that food and educational services were in place while schools were closed.
