A person under the age of 18 has died of the novel coronavirus in Los Angeles County.
The report came from public health officials, according to Business Insider.
It was not immediately clear if the person under 18 had a preexisting condition.
LA County health officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
"COVID-19 does not discriminate by age, race or income level." Barbara Ferrer, the Los Angeles County Public Health Director, said in a statement.
