Crowds gather at soccer stadium for mass coronavirus testing in Indonesia

Mass testing for COVID-19 took place at Bekasi Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi City, West Java on March 25.

The crowds were tested by various medical personnel from different hospitals in and around Bekasi.

The test location was in the stadium which was set up near the jogging field where potential patients have been arriving since the morning.

Those who conducted tests were lined up with rapid test kits that have been prepared, one by one the test participants had blood samples taken by injection.

Bekasi Mayor Rahmat Effendi said the rapid test process was carried out at several points and patterns.

"Right now we are taking the first test, which is our health team, so if later we have OPD (people in monitoring) and PDP (Patients and Monitoring) we will separate them," Rahmat said at Patriot Stadium.

In addition to the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium in Bekasi, rapid tests will also be conducted at Bekasi City Hospital, door to door to residents' homes and to the offices of agencies such as the District Police and Kodim.

"We have 165 Health Teams that will later be sent to the places where the interaction is expected to occur in places that we have arranged in such a way from 15 positives, from about 240 declared by the ODP and PDP," he explained.

The test participants who attended were from 12 sub-districts in Bekasi City, the process was targeted to be finished today and continued to carry out tests at the hospital and door to door.
