Spain’s government approved stronger measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

According to Reuters, their dead toll rose by 838 cases overnight to 6,528.

Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that all non-essential workers must stay at home for two weeks.

He said workers would receive their usual salaries but would have to make up lost hours later.

While unions welcomed the new measures, they said it would deeply hurt the economy.
