Thai farmers use tractors to spray streets with sanitising liquid during coronavirus pandemic

Farmers joined the efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 by using their tractors to spray sterilising liquid in the streets.

The agricultural workers drover their machines and replaced fertiliser with disinfectant as they drove through the town centre in Pichit, northern Thailand, last Saturday (March 28).

Councild chief Bunchern Khamden, 53, said all farmers in the area have at least one tractor which they could use in the efforts to sanitise the areas where people have to congregate, such as markets.

He said: "I think we have more than 100 tractors that we can use for spraying.

That's enough for people to take it in turns and we can spray the area every day.'' Thailand has declared 1,651 cases of the coronavirus and 10 deaths since the pandemic began.
