MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Governor Brian Kemp made two stops in Macon Wednesday morning.

One of them was to tour Irving Consumer Products, a tissue paper production company.

Cases.

Houston county has 358 cases.

Baldwin county has 337 cases.

And hancock county is nearing 200 ... with 193 reported cases.

After governor kemp left navicent health, he made a second stop in macon.

He toured irving consumer products, a tissue paper production company.

"standup: irving consumer products here in macon is the producers of tissue paper along with paper towels the company has been thriving during the pandemic because of the need for paper towels and tissue.

Today the governor stopped by to tour the facility as it expands " for the first time ever, governor brian kemp visited irving consumer products wednesday.

"15:28:26: this place is huge" the company opened up in november of 20-19.

Since then, the corporation has expanded "15:13:22: another 400-million dollars being invested here and another 150k georgians on top of what they current have to be employed" the plant says the expansion was planned prior to the pandemic, but has been booming ever since.

The governor says the facility is state of the art "15:28:46 its fascinating to see how much technology is involved with this plant" according to governor kemp, georgia strives for advance manufacturing.

The manufacturing company has a couple of local partnerships.

He say?georgia power is building a sub station, and the state is committed to building the rail spur to help with logistic of the plant.
