16 WAPT Meteorologist Christana Kay has the forecast for Jackson and Central Mississippi.

Have a pleasant day in store today, with highs reaching 80 to buy new withlots of sunshine to go around peak highhere in the metro will be run 85 butour southernmost counties could getcloser to the 90 degree mark today.

Butall in all, we're going to stay on thelower in when it comes to humidity.Reason being as we have this area ofdry air this orange from Georgia allthe way out towards parts of Oklahomaand Texas that is bringing that airedair in, making it a little bit more onthe comfortable side.

So, yes, eventhough we're going to be reaching themid to upper eighties today, we're notreally going to feel that human willfeel fairly comfortable.

Same story fortomorrow, maybe a little bit more humanlonger Mississippi River counties andfarther south, closer to the Gulf Coast. But temperatures are going to be in theupper eighties, a few places reachingthe low nineties four tomorrowafternoon.

But the good news is no raininside.

For the next 48 hours, we couldsee a few high serious clouds filteringinto the area today and tomorrow Alittle bit more cloud cover pushing in,um, by Monday afternoon into theevening hours.

But our main story iswe're keeping an eye on the tropics.Reason being we have tropical storeAmanda in eastern ah, Pacific that'ssupposed to make landfall into theYucatan Peninsula later on today, that's going to jump ship into the Bayof Campy.

She kind of like it'srecycling into another tropical low, possibly.

But either way, we're gonnahave a surge of moisture going up intothe northern part of the Gulf.

Sopossibility of some showers along theGulf Coast later this week into theweekend and depending on what uh, thattropical low will end up doing willdetermine on if we're going to getsince splash and dash hours or heavydownpours next week.

But first off, let's just go through this week becauseit's gonna be fairly nice to get a fewsplash and dash hours or possibleTuesday through the majority of nextweek or this upcoming week.

A fewshowers on Wednesday, but I highlydoubt we're really going to see anywidespread heavy downpours at all thisweek.

Instead, hot and humid will bethe story.
