Normandy veterans complete 104-mile cycling challenge

Normandy Veterans Peter Hawkins and Len Gibbon finish their 104-mile cycling challenge, to commemorate anniversary of the Normandy landings, in Worthing in aid of the charity, Care for Veterans.

Len joined the Royal Army Service Corps as a Despatch Rider when he was just 20 years old and was posted to Normandy as part of the Normandy Landings, arriving on the June 14, eight days into the operation.

Peter, 95, landed at Gold Beach a few days after Len in 1944.

The static bike cycling challenge is the same distance as Len's historic journey from Portsmouth to Gold Beach.
