The State Department of Health revisited Starkville just two weeks after their previous testing.

The mississippi state department of health along with ummc and the national guard held coronavirus testing here at the jl king center in starkville.

Testing just wrapped up about an hour ago.

Just less than two weeks ago the state held a testing site in starkville at the oktibbeha county safe room .

Keith wooten with the national guard said the jl king center requested this testing.

."

According to the mississippi state department of health there is 420 coronavirus cases in oktibbeha county.

1st sargent keith wooten says he believes communities are requesting the testing as more businesses are opening.

"more people that is out and about now because of the state lifting its stay at home policy."

Wooten said some employers are asking for their employees to get tested as businesses reopen.

"a lot of jobs are requesting testing before they go back to work."

The testing with the state department is free, and you either have to have symptoms of coronavirus or have been in contact with someone with coronavirus to get tested.

You do have to schedule an appointment to get tested though.

"we have estimated of over 200 people to get tested today."
