'Brave' Hongkonger gives middle finger to water cannon truck during security law protest

A young man from Hong Kong was seen giving a water cannon truck the middle finger during a national security law protest on July 1.

Footage shows the man stood in the middle of the street where he gives the sweary gesture to the operators of the riot-deterrent vehicle.

The vehicle stops and the driver threatens to get out of the vehicle when the young man runs away.

The filmer explained: "Protests swept through the city, police deployed water cannons to end the protest.

"In the video, a young man gives the water cannon the middle finger." Part of the national security law sees subversion to the Central Government punishable with life imprisonment.
