Old Glory returns to Utica

The renovated American flag installation returns to John Street.

Back....in utica.

"old glory"....the american flag sculpture commissioned by former utica mayor, edward hanna, in 2000, is back in its home, on the john street median.

Steve's restoration and hot rods has been refurbishing it over the past several months.

It had to be removed for a bit, due to the ongoing route 5s safety improvement project.

But today, it was carefully returned to its original home....with a new foundation.

The man in charge of its restoration calls it one of the most special and important jobs he's done.
