The Daughters of the American Revolution put on a commemorative ceremony for two soldiers from the American Revolution that are buried in Floyd.

Floyd is filled with a number of historic sites, specifically the american revolution.

After over a year of work, the daughters of the american revolution unveiled a new site along route 365- today.

News channel 2's brent kearney has the story.

You may not know driving past this green house on route 365 in the town of floyd, there's an important piece of the area's history.

The grave stones of colonol stephen mouton and his son salmon moulton.

Both served under president washington in the american revolution.

Today the daughters of the american revolution holding a comemorative ceremony .

None "it has been a long road since a year ago last summer and we're still not quite finished.

We're still working on it and the sun has come out and i see its going to be a sunshinny day."

The members revealed this sign officially designating the moulton family cemetery as a historic site.

One of the family descendents jeff moulton was there representing his family.

"the colnol was my great grandfather's great grand father.

I'm directly related to salmon his son.

He would be my great great great grandfather."

"it is very overwhelming for me to be here to represent my father my uncle and my aunts.

And its very overwhelming for me to be here."

"representatives from the daughters of the american revolution tell me the tombstones have been like this for over a hundred years.

And the town of floyd town supervisor tells me, their is a plan to refubish the area."

"we have plans following up later this summer.

We're going to come in here and establish bases for the foundation of these monuments and try and put them back up and in order."
