“We can no longer hide behind the idea of heritage and act like we can’t understand that there’s an ugly racial history bound up in this flag.” When Darrell “Bubba Wallace Jr. called for the ban of the confederate flag, NASCAR answered.

Now, NASCAR’s drivers and leadership are taking a stand against racism within the sport itself and around the world by banning the confederate flag at racetracks.

We speak to Bubba Wallace Jr. himself, along with Bill Lester a retired NASCAR Cup Series driver and historians about the history of the confederate flag and what it means that it was banned by NASCAR.
