“It’s my job as an American citizen and a U.S. soldier to fight Confederacy.” Chris Buckley is a former U.S. Army sergeant and member of the KKK whose friendship with a Syrian Refugee caused him to renounce his hateful beliefs.

Checking in with him today, he shares his thoughts on why he supports the removal of Confederate symbols in America and why he believes the Confederate flag, specifically, is not a symbol of heritage, but oppression.
